I have not disappeared, I PROMISE! In all seriousness though, I MISS MY BLOG!!

Between founding The Boudoir Forum with my wonderful friend Jennifer Williams, prepping for WPPI/Vegas, some huge shoots in DC/NYC coming up, WEDDING PLANNING(EEK!) and just life, I forgot I had a blog!

SO, I am seriously doing this. Posting 1 picture and running but I am saying HIIIIIIIIIIII, I’ll be back soon! xoxo

Akron Maternity Photographer

Part two of this gorgeous Mama to be is now up! If you haven’t seen her outdoor maternity session definitely make sure to check it out. We did this session in 2 parts. The first is a more boudoir type feel and the 2nd, all outside. If you’re interested in doing your own maternity session let me just tell you it will be AMAZING! It’s so much fun and I know Melissa loved her images. Here are a few of the emails and notes she wrote me.

“These are AMAZING! I love all of them! It’s going to be so hard to choose!! Thank you so much for capturing such a special time in our lives. I can hardly wait to get the finished product. You are fantastic and must do more maternity shoots!! I am so happy that I chose you once again to work with! xoxoxoxo Melissa”

“ahhhh!! I have 53 “favorites” on my gallery! How the heck am I going to narrow this down!?!?! Darn you, for being so wonderful!”

Boudoir Photos in DC

One of the fun things is traveling for boudoir sessions and getting to hang out with my clients. When I got into DC, for the first time in years, my room was not ready. Mrs K and I hung out in the lobby just hanging out and chatting while we waited. It was great getting to know her more beforehand and it made the session such a breeze. She was a true natural and I am so happy she is letting me share some of her session with you all.

Sometimes I do something a bit out of my comfort zone and try something new. It’s the only way I learn and grew and get to experience new things. Melissa who was a past client booked me for a maternity session with her husband, Matt. Melissa and I started out shooting some more boudoir style images but still keeping is soft and pretty before Matt joined for some more shots.

When I was done with this session I was just in awe (and even during) at how gorgeous Melissa looked and felt. It was one of the few times in my life that I really let it soak in and think how beautiful pregnancy is.

After I narrowed down their gallery I made a promise to myself. I want to shoot more maternity. It’s such a wonderful time in your life, why not have it in some gorgeous images to be remembered? It doesn’t need to be your cheesy maternity session at all! I love these images for how relaxed and real they are and not to add this lady is glowing!

So, enjoy the teaser! I have a 200 gallery I need to narrow down to make a complete blog post along with some new information on my maternity sessions, a new full service offering in 2012!

What to Wear Wednesday

In February I am heading out to Vegas for WPPI, an annual photographers Convention. While I am out there I want to book a session for myself. I figure there really is no better place than Vegas to get a session done and it should really put me in the mood. So, I needed to start looking for ideas for my own session. One thing I love when it comes to boudoir outfits are things that are still sexy but not full lingerie. I love shooting girls in baggy sweaters and knew this was something I wanted to do. It’ll also hide the areas I want to hide;)I didn’t want just any sweater so I found this fabulous shiny sweater from Bloomingdales and I want to pair it with some fishnet thigh highs to add some more sexiness.

If lingerie is totally outside of your comfort zone like it is for me then try an outfit like this. A sweater is in my everyday wardrobe but with a little bling and some thigh highs it keeps it comfortable for me and sexy!
